The violinist Léo Marillier invites Takuya Otaki (piano), Hortense Fourrier (viola), Camille Renault (cello) and Pauline Klaus (violin) on stage for an evening based on friendship, like the friendship between Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn. The ensemble will present a programme focusing on the two composers.

The ensemble will be performing Schumann's Sonata No 2 (1852), which because of its wide range of developments and dense musical texture many compare to a symphony. It is written in four movements, the central ones being based on a Johann Sebastian Bach chorale. They will also perform the String Quartet No 2 in A minor, written by Mendelssohn in 1827 when he was just 18 years old and whose almost definitive version was created in the weeks following the death of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Léo Marillier (France) is a recipient of the Music Committee of the Cité internationale des arts.
