SINGING - CONTEMPORARY MUSIC
Ciarán O’Rourke is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. He has studied jazz at the Berklee College of Music and production at HKU Utrecht, and has worked with artists such as Bonobo, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and Rough Fields.
Ciarán O’Rourke is now focusing on his Strawboy project which combines songwriting with creative production techniques. The lyrical themes are liminality, mysticism, esoterica, altered states of consciousness, folklore and mythology. He transmutes events from his own life into sonic fictions that draw on folk, electronica and ambient music.
