Cathryn Boch is a French visual artist born in 1968.

Using her sewing machine, Cathryn Boch draws lines that pierce the supports and invade the surfaces with threads. The artist dissects, grafts, confronts and mends all kinds of writings of territories, transcriptions of space: road maps, maritime maps, topographic maps, geological maps, atlases, city plans, aerial or press photographs, satellite images.

By engaging the potential of maps Cathryn Boch excavates the multiple worlds we inhabit and in which we act. Between the maps and the proliferation of threads, an environment in full mutation emerges.

The artist makes personal, carnal, militant counter-geographies. These are radical cartographies, with which she tries to make visible the tensions of a world shaken by different earthquakes; social injustices, gentrifications, dominations, the rise of extremes, prevented migrations, global warming, ecological disaster.

His cartographies open up new territories, bearing at the same time deep memories, resistances and vast hopes.
